My name is Shivani, owner of Photography by Shivani. I'm a maternity photographer with a studio in Welwyn Garden City. I also provide family photography with a specific focus on the motherhood bond.
Based in Hertfordshire, I am close to St. Albans, Hatfield, Hitchin, Stevenage, Potters Bar and surrounding areas.
As a mummy to a toddler, 2 fur babies and wife to an amazing husband, life is busy!
My interest in photography actually started with a completely different genre - travel photography. My husband and I have never been massive gifters, instead we choose to go away and experience new cultures and adventures. Every trip has its own memories but most of the time we only came back with a fridge magnet and a few selfies! That was of course until we booked a trip to New York and decided we needed to invest in a camera. At the time my husband was the one into all the technical details whereas I just wanted to point and shoot.
This was okay for a while, until we realised we really didn't have many photos of us together. So I had to learn the basics of how to use a camera (in manual mode) which I have to say is quite difficult to be motivated to do when you're not on a dreamy beach or a bustling city! But the time soon came... when we decided to go travelling around South America. The scenery, the landscapes, the people, the culture... it was all so immersive I quickly figured it all out on the go and I'm so glad I did.
Fast forward three years when I first thought about the next chapter of my life, I immediately fell in love with capturing the beauty of pregnancy and the special bond between mother and child. Every pregnancy is different and I would love to help you embrace and document this beautiful milestone through a stylised maternity photoshoot.
